Joe Jacquez is a 23-year-old digital producer working full time for the Gannett and USA Today Network as part of the Western Digital Optimization Team.
He helps small and medium news sites in many areas of the country, including California, the Midwest and Guam, to optimize their content for search results, strengthen their social media, package stories, and make breakouts to help extend the life of stories, cover breaking news, make and edit videos and make social cards and Instagram stories.
Joe is a 2018 graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
Joe has done freelance work and wrote articles and interviewed players and other public figures for a variety of publications. In addition, Joe served as a digital production intern at the Arizona Republic and azcentral.com where he discovered his current work.
Joe received his associate’s degree at Mesa Community College.
His most recent writing has been featured in the Ventura County Star, The Lafayette Daily Advertiser, The Kitsap Sun and a number of other sites he works with as a digital producer with the DOT. These stories are breakouts about news happening in the site’s local area and help the site pull in more search and social views as well as get information to the public in an efficient manner.
His writing has also been featured at The State Press, Baseball Essential, arizonasports.com and Last Word on Pro Basketball. In addition, Joe has freelanced at numerous outlets including Bowlers Journal International, Arizona Contractor and Community Magazine, The Mesa Independent, The East Valley Tribune, Nearby News and Arizona Capitol Times.
